Hyperliquid liquidation price calculator
Pick a coin, the side, entry, size and leverage. The calculator applies the limits Hyperliquid publishes for that coin, its maximum leverage and the margin tiers for large positions, and shows the mark price at which liquidation would start and how far away it is. The coin list and limits refresh every hour.

How Hyperliquid works it out
Hyperliquid’s documentation gives the liquidation price as price − side × margin available ÷ position size ÷ (1 − l × side). Side is 1 for a long and −1 for a short, and l is one over the maintenance leverage, which is twice the coin’s maximum leverage: the maintenance margin is half the initial margin at max leverage.
For an isolated position the margin available is the position’s own margin less its maintenance requirement. For cross margin it is the account value less the maintenance margin of everything open, which is why cross positions sit further from liquidation and share one fate. Large positions move into margin tiers with a lower maximum leverage, and the tier that counts is the one matching the position’s value at the liquidation price.
We checked the calculator against the liquidation prices Hyperliquid reported for live positions on 13 October 2026, isolated and cross. They matched wherever the account’s margin was its perp balance alone; accounts that also post spot balances as margin are liquidated further away. Limits on this page were read from Hyperliquid on October 13 at 13:21 UTC.

Questions people ask
Hyperliquid documents it as price − side × margin available ÷ position size ÷ (1 − l × side), where side is 1 for a long and −1 for a short and l is one over the maintenance leverage. Margin available is the isolated margin of the position, or for cross margin the account value minus the maintenance margin the account already needs.
Half the initial margin at the coin’s maximum leverage: 1.25% for a 40x coin such as BTC, 2% for ETH at 25x and 16.7% for a 3x coin. Very large positions fall into margin tiers with lower maximum leverage and a higher maintenance margin, applied on the position’s value at the liquidation price.
The mark price, which combines prices from major centralized exchanges with the state of Hyperliquid’s own order book. Once account equity falls below the maintenance margin, positions are sent to the book to be closed.
It depends on the coin: up to 40x on BTC and 25x on ETH at the time of writing, less on smaller coins, and less again for very large positions under margin tiers. The calculator reads the current limit for every coin.
Funding and fees already paid have changed your margin, other cross positions share the same margin, and accounts that also post spot balances as margin are liquidated further away than this calculator assumes. Hyperliquid’s position view is the source of truth.
